Chronicle & Epigraphy

Historical Foundations of Buchesvara Temple

Consecrated in 1173 CE by Buci (Buchiraja), a high-ranking officer and royal patron, on the very day of King Veera Ballala II's ascension to the Hoysala throne. Dedicated to his family's spiritual heritage, the complex features inscriptions detailing the loyalty of Buci and his brothers. Maintained as an ASI national monument, Koravangala preserves the authentic dignity and delicate stone carving of 12th-century Hoysala art.
